Biking: Llandegla Wind Direction: N/A Wind Stength: N/A Surf / Sea State: N/A Air Temperature: 15ºC Sea Temperature: N/A Weather: Cloudy Max Speed: 32.5 mph (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 13 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Met Steve at Llandegla and had a nice ride around the combined Red and Black trails. It was dry and fairly warm and we took things at a leisurely pace. Overtook loads of people on the first climb and then had a fairly quiet ride around the trail. Most of it was good. I had one sketchy moment where I should have jumped off a little ramp but rolled over it far too fast, the back wheel kicked up into the air and I just held on as I sped along the trail on my front wheel for a while trying despertely to recover and not go over the bars. Steve had a more-than-sketchy moment a little later on. He was in front of me and as he went out of sight around a corner I heard a big crash so slowed right down and found Steve lying at the side of the trail unable to move. Thankfully he wasn't too badly injured, just a few cuts and bruises and a sore hip. He was soon back up and riding and as we weren't too far from the visitor centre we took it even easier from there on in. Still think I should just go for it and actually jumpf off some of the jumps rather than roll them, but its also good to stay in one piece! All finished off with a bacon and egg bap, carrot cake and hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows in the cafe and then a drive back home. |
